IEM lateral entry: verify route, qualification and seats

What the source establishes

The university IEMJEE page describes lateral-entry preparation using the WB JELET pattern. A preparation reference does not by itself establish that a given campus has a vacant second-year seat.

Check your prior qualification

Verify the required diploma or degree, subjects, marks and any equivalence conditions with the institution. Do not reuse the Class 12 first-year eligibility table for a lateral application.

Ask about programme mapping

Request the permitted target branch, entry semester, remaining duration, curriculum gaps and fee schedule. Course changes and credit treatment need written institutional confirmation.

Keep counselling systems separate

If a state counselling route applies, follow its official registration, matrix and allotment process. An independent enquiry or group entrance result is not a substitute for that allotment.
