Introduction

IEMCET (IEM Common Entrance Test) is an entrance exam for students who want to join the prestigious University of Engineering & Management (UEM) and Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) family. It's an excellent backup option for students who haven't appeared for WBJEE or JEE Main.

IEMCET is conducted by the IEM-UEM group for admissions into its B.Tech, BCA, BBA, and other courses. It serves as a gateway for students who might not have appeared for WBJEE or want specifically to join the prestigious University of Engineering & Management (UEM) Jaipur/Kolkata and Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM).

  • Class 10 & 12 Marksheets (for eligibility check)
  • Aadhaar Card or PAN Card
  • Scanned copy of passport size photo

Eligibility Criteria

  • For B.Tech: Passed 10+2 with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects.
  • Must have valid score in Class 10 and 12 (min 60% usually recommended).
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.

About IEM CET 2026

IEMCET is conducted by the IEM-UEM Group, one of the leading educational groups in Eastern India. The group runs IEM Kolkata (affiliated to MAKAUT), UEM Kolkata, and UEM Jaipur. The exam is designed to be student-friendly with multiple phases throughout the year, giving students several chances to qualify. The exam is often free of cost and can be taken from home online.

Q. Is IEMCET mandatory?

If you do not have a valid WBJEE or JEE Main rank, IEMCET is required for admission to UEM Jaipur and UEM Kolkata. For IEM Kolkata, WBJEE/JEE Main is primary.
