Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a Citizen of India.
  • Lower age limit: 17 years as of 31st Dec 2026. No upper age limit for Engineering.
  • Must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application.
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks in the three compulsory subjects (40% for SC/ST/OBC/Pwd).
  • Must have passed English in 10+2 with at least 30% marks.

About WBJEE 2026

WBJEE is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), a state government-controlled body established in 1962. Counselling Process

WBJEEB conducts purely web-based counseling (e-counseling). Candidates who secure a GMR (General Merit Rank) need to register, pay a counseling fee, and fill their choices of colleges and branches. Seats are allotted in multiple rounds based on rank and preference. Separate rounds are held for JEE Main candidates for some seats.

Q. Is Domicile required for WBJEE?

Domicile is NOT required to appear for the exam. Students from all over India can appear. However, Domicile is mandatory for claiming seats in Government colleges and for TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) schemes.

Q. Can outside West Bengal students apply?

Yes, students from other states can apply. They will be treated as 'General' category candidates and are eligible for seats in Private Universities and colleges, as well as General seats in some Govt Universities (like Jadavpur University).

Q. Is calculator allowed?

No, calculators or any electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
