BCA: campus and exact course verification for IEM and UEM

Locate the exact programme

The central exam portal includes BCA under its Salt Lake programme list and also lists a Jaipur BCA option. Confirm the offered campus, university, duration and award structure. A shared BCA title does not establish that a Kolkata four-year fee table governs Jaipur or every group location.

The Kolkata 2026 BBA/BCA row shows X 60%, XII 60%, a two-year gap provision and four years. For BCA it also names mathematics, business mathematics, computer application or computer science as a required XII option. Copy your actual subject name from the marksheet and ask whether it satisfies the condition; do not treat a similar informal subject label as confirmation.

Inspect the teaching environment

Inspect programming, databases, web or application development, operating systems, networks and project assessment in the current scheme. Ask where mathematics and software-design principles are taught. Check the structure of any honours, research or exit option directly with the university. Do not infer award conditions from a generic four-year label.

Verify access through a practical task

Build a small student-support application with validated inputs, persistent records and a clear permission model. Explain the database tables, error messages and backup method. Include an installation guide and a test for invalid data. This demonstrates learning beyond a screen mock-up and provides a concrete basis for comparing practical teaching across programmes.

Ask what computer specifications, development tools and internet access are required. Keep tuition, living costs and optional technical certificates separate. Confirm whether the fourth year changes the award, assessments or cost schedule and whether any exit terms are documented. Do not make a three-year budget using an older page when the current offer covers four years.

Read the offer as a record

For the BCA offer, place the full institution name, university, programme title, entry route, batch and teaching address on one sheet. Compare them with the official course listing and fee document. Ask which office resolves discrepancies and keep the written answer. A group admission office may coordinate applications without being the place where every class or practical is held.

Record what the visit establishes

A BCA campus visit can confirm what you observed and the questions staff answered on that date. It cannot establish access for a later batch, an unannounced specialisation or future placements. Record laboratory opening rules, individual assessment and travel between facilities. Use the observations to decide whether the environment supports the learning tasks you actually want to complete.
