Identify the role you are investigating
Compare electronics design, testing, embedded, communication and software roles separately. Ask for branch-specific internship tasks, recruiter eligibility and joining outcomes. A student entering a software role after ECE does not prove equivalent core-electronics hiring. Request the tools, supervision and practical assessments associated with an electronics internship.
Ask for the work behind the internship
Investigate a simple signal-conditioning chain using a simulator or supervised equipment. State the desired gain or frequency behaviour, compare the model with measured or simulated output and explain deviations. Include noise, clipping and component tolerances where appropriate. Keep the circuit, assumptions and test conditions so another student can reproduce the result.
A simulated circuit can meet a target while a practical implementation fails because of supply limits, grounding or measurement setup. Diagnose the chain one stage at a time and separate a model assumption from an instrument error. This exercise tests your interest in physical evidence, which differs from judging a programme only by software recruitment opportunities.
Use a comparable cohort
For Electronics and Communication Engineering, request the actual programme, graduating year, number seeking work, students placed and students continuing to study. Keep multiple offers separate from unique students. Ask whether internship data describe applications, selections, starts or completed work. A placement percentage without its denominator cannot be compared fairly with another course, campus or year.
Check the skills and practical access
Inspect circuits, semiconductor devices, signals, digital design, communication and embedded-system modules. Compare instrument access and laboratory assessment with theoretical teaching. Ask whether students can design, measure and revise a circuit individually. Check how mathematical prerequisites support signals and communication rather than appearing as disconnected first-year requirements.
The engineering microsite lists ECE at Salt Lake and Jaipur. Ask which campus your specific offer names and where electronics laboratories operate. Verify the programme rather than interpreting a group-wide engineering list as evidence of identical ECE availability, equipment or curriculum at New Town.
Separate evidence from a promise
The IEM NIRF 2026 engineering submission is institution-level historical evidence, not a guarantee for Electronics and Communication Engineering. Do not replace a missing course-level record with the highest package or a group recruiter list. Keep offer evidence, joining outcomes and salary definitions distinct, and use your own project work to identify what preparation a desired role would still require.
