Identify the role you are investigating
Compare power, automation, electrical maintenance, design, testing and software roles separately. Ask whether a site internship involved supervised technical work, observation or documentation. Request branch-level placement denominators and exact role descriptions. A group employer list does not establish electrical-core hiring or permission for students to work on energised equipment.
Ask for the work behind the internship
Use a safe simulation to model a motor or controlled electrical system, define the load and compare a transient with steady operation. Record the parameters, assumptions and performance measure. Explain what would need supervised verification before transferring the model to physical equipment. A simulation report should distinguish an educational result from approval to operate machinery.
A system meeting a nominal target can behave poorly when the load changes or a parameter is uncertain. Vary the model deliberately and explain the response. Check whether a control choice improves one metric while worsening another. Enjoying this trade-off and the safety discipline is useful evidence when comparing Electrical Engineering with coding-focused alternatives.
Use a comparable cohort
For Electrical Engineering, request the actual programme, graduating year, number seeking work, students placed and students continuing to study. Keep multiple offers separate from unique students. Check the skills and practical access
Inspect circuits, machines, power systems, control, measurements and practical safety training. Ask how laboratory work develops from low-risk introductory exercises to supervised equipment studies. Compare modelling, simulation and measured results. Check whether industrial projects explain operating constraints rather than only ideal textbook performance.

Ask which university issues the degree and whether any course activities require travel to another site. A related electrical programme name is not an automatic substitute.
Separate evidence from a promise
The IEM NIRF 2026 engineering submission is institution-level historical evidence, not a guarantee for Electrical Engineering. Do not replace a missing course-level record with the highest package or a group recruiter list. Keep offer evidence, joining outcomes and salary definitions distinct, and use your own project work to identify what preparation a desired role would still require.
