M.Tech: campus and exact course verification for IEM and UEM

Locate the exact programme

The central portal lists CSE, AIML and ECE postgraduate options in its Salt Lake section and a separate Jaipur M.Tech list. Confirm programme location and supervisor availability directly. A degree with the same title at another campus can have different admission conditions, facilities and dissertation arrangements.

The Kolkata 2026 M.Tech table lists CSE, CSE AIML and ECE, X/XII/graduation 60%, and IEMCET. Other institutional pages refer to GATE or IEMJEE in different contexts. Obtain written confirmation of the specific specialisation, qualifying degree and accepted test. Do not convert a group-level route statement into universal postgraduate eligibility.

Inspect the teaching environment

Inspect advanced technical modules, research methods, laboratory requirements and dissertation assessment for the offered specialisation. Ask which supervisors are available and whether their work matches your interests. Compare prerequisites with your prior transcript. Separate access to a laboratory from a claim that a particular research project or supervisor is guaranteed.

Verify access through a practical task

Draft a small research proposal with a question, a baseline method, evaluation criteria and a realistic resource plan. Identify what evidence would support or reject the hypothesis. Include a reproducibility strategy and the limits of the available equipment or data. This tests your readiness for independent investigation rather than merely completing more taught modules.

Ask whether dissertation consumables, software, instrumentation, data collection and conference travel create additional costs. Clarify funding and stipend conditions separately from admission. A possible assistantship is not guaranteed cash flow. Plan the two-year commitment against the written tuition schedule and the resources required for a feasible project.

Read the offer as a record

For the M.Tech offer, place the full institution name, university, programme title, entry route, batch and teaching address on one sheet. Compare them with the official course listing and fee document. Ask which office resolves discrepancies and keep the written answer. A group admission office may coordinate applications without being the place where every class or practical is held.

Record what the visit establishes

A M.Tech campus visit can confirm what you observed and the questions staff answered on that date. It cannot establish access for a later batch, an unannounced specialisation or future placements. Record laboratory opening rules, individual assessment and travel between facilities. Use the observations to decide whether the environment supports the learning tasks you actually want to complete.
