The Kolkata 2026 M.Tech table lists CSE, CSE AIML and ECE, X/XII/graduation 60%, and IEMCET. Other institutional pages refer to GATE or IEMJEE in different contexts. Obtain written confirmation of the specific specialisation, qualifying degree and accepted test. Do not convert a group-level route statement into universal postgraduate eligibility.

Match your academic evidence

Create a M.Tech evidence sheet with the qualification name, board or university, examination year, subject-wise marks and the exact programme requested. Keep original marksheets separate from any self-calculated aggregate. If the form uses a different subject abbreviation, preserve both wordings and ask for a written mapping. A verbal assurance is not the same as an eligibility decision.

Identify preparation gaps

M.Tech is a postgraduate engineering decision about specialisation, supervision and the work you want to investigate. Start from your qualifying degree and technical preparation. A group-wide M.Tech mention does not establish eligibility for every branch. Compare a research question and laboratory need with the actual programme resources before choosing by title alone.

Inspect advanced technical modules, research methods, laboratory requirements and dissertation assessment for the offered specialisation. Ask which supervisors are available and whether their work matches your interests. Compare prerequisites with your prior transcript. Separate access to a laboratory from a claim that a particular research project or supervisor is guaranteed.

Resolve the outstanding condition

The central portal lists CSE, AIML and ECE postgraduate options in its Salt Lake section and a separate Jaipur M.Tech list. Confirm programme location and supervisor availability directly. A degree with the same title at another campus can have different admission conditions, facilities and dissertation arrangements.

Before accepting the M.Tech offer, record each unresolved condition as a specific question with the supporting document. Separate marks eligibility, accepted entrance route and final document verification. Save the dated official response with your application record. This produces a usable checklist even when an institutional page contains an older or conflicting block.
