Read the reference narrowly

The IEMCET university page points M.Tech preparation toward GATE. This does not establish that a GATE score is universally mandatory, automatically waives a test or guarantees a scholarship.

Choose the correct specialisation

Match your qualifying engineering degree and proposed M.Tech specialisation to the current eligibility rules. Inspect the syllabus for that discipline rather than using undergraduate engineering material.

Resolve inconsistent route wording

The university page contains conflicting IEMJEE/IEMCET text, while the central portal assigns M.Tech to IEMCET. Ask the official institution which selection steps apply to your application.

Research training questions

Ask about dissertation supervisors, laboratory access, full-time attendance and available projects. An entrance preparation reference says little about the research experience itself.
