IEM and UEM gap-year eligibility: what to verify

The Kolkata 2026 admission table says a two-year gap is allowed in its BBA/BCA row. That statement cannot be transferred automatically to every engineering or postgraduate programme.

Ask how the gap is counted

Confirm the start and end dates used by the institution, any required explanation or affidavit, and whether you must meet additional qualification conditions.

Prepare qualification records

Keep the year of passing, examination attempts, prior enrolment and entrance records consistent across your application. State your history accurately rather than concealing a gap.

Future intake confirmation

A 2026 provision is historical evidence, not a 2027 guarantee. Obtain a written reply identifying your course, campus and intended joining batch if your situation falls outside the published wording.
