Why older answers can conflict
Older IEM discussions and certificates may refer to MAKAUT. The current engineering website uses UEM Kolkata affiliation wording. A historical document can be accurate for its year and still fail to answer the question for a new admission.
Read four fields together
Match the legal institution name, programme, campus and admission year. Ask the institution for the current affiliation or university document covering that combination, and the name that will appear on your degree.
Recognition and programme approval differ
University recognition and programme-specific regulatory approval answer different questions. Use the UGC and relevant regulator’s official records rather than a logo on an advertisement.
Keep a record
Save the current prospectus and written reply from the official admissions office. If two sources disagree, resolve the discrepancy before paying. Independent guidance cannot replace the university’s written confirmation.
