IEM cutoff: how to find a valid closing rank

A useful cutoff needs its year, examination, round, category, quota, campus and branch. Avoid unlabelled rank predictions.

Independent Akash Talks guidance. Official application, admission and fee decisions belong to the institution. How we verify information

Read all the dimensions

A closing rank changes with year, round, category, quota, branch and institution code. A number without those labels cannot answer whether your rank is competitive for a current seat.

Use the official counselling records

For WBJEE-route comparisons, start with WBJEEB’s published opening/closing ranks and seat matrix. First establish that the campus and programme participate in the cycle you are researching.

Scores from different tests differ

Do not convert an IEMJEE result into a WBJEE rank or equate a JEE Main percentile with a published closing rank. Each route has its own rules and available seats.

Create a sensible shortlist

Use historical data as context and keep alternatives across branches and colleges. A previous closing rank is a past allocation result, not a guarantee or a current seat reservation.
